Eleonas in the village of Zaros is an agrotourism settlement built at the foothill of mountain Idi, overlooking the village of Zaros, only 48km south of Heraklion city.

Eleonas in Zaros village south Heraklion offers its guests the opportunity to be close to nature while being accommodated in comfortable traditional style cottages and savour authentic Cretan dishes prepared from mostly their own organic produce.

The 23 rustic cottages are scattered in 2 hectars – 25000 square metres – of land and so enjoy utterly privacy, quietness and beautiful views of the mountains and the village of Zaros.

The architecture of the entire guesthouse is perfectly attuned to the natural habitat, amidst olive groves and exceptionally beautiful gardens with local aromatic plants and herbs.

The Stone Cottages can accommodate up to 3 people and are all on one level with a bedroom, living area with a single sofa bed and fireplace, a small kitchenette and bathroom with a shower room or bathtub.
There are also cottages best suited to couples with a Queen size bed and a Jacuzzi bathtub.

The Family Cottages can accommodate 2 adult and 2 children.
They feature an attic where there is a master bedroom and an additional single bed plus a single sofa bed on the ground floor where the kitchenette and the fireplace are also found.

The Two-Bedroom Cottages can accommodate up to 5 people.
On the ground level there is a sitting room with a single bed and a sofa bed, a fireplace, a private bedroom, a kitchenette and a bathroom with shower.
One more bedroom with private balcony from where you can enjoy the mountan view and the view of Zaros village is found on the upper level.

All 23 cottages have outdoor sitting areas with tables and chairs and boast beautiful views of the natural surroundings and the village of Zaros.

Eleonas is situated at the entrance of Zaros gorge with numerous other mountain paths starting near the guesthouse and thus, detailed maps and additional information are provided.
The area also features an emerald – green lake and natural springs.

The settlement also has a large pool with plenty of space to sunbathe, an outdoor fitness area, 2 playgrounds and 20 mountain bikes, the latter at an extra charge.

Moreover, guests can take part in cooking classes and learn how to prepare traditional Cretan dishes, or help to grow vegetables, milk the goats and make cheese, harvest vines and feed the animals at the on-site farm.
