Sitia beach

Location

The long beach of Sitia town is located 69km east of Agios Nikolaos and 62km north east of Ierapetra.
It lies a few kilometres east of town, extending up to the area of Petras.

Notes

The beach is mainly sandy with small pebbles in places, while the water is shallow.
It is open to the north winds which often create large waves, ideal for surfing.
*The western part of the beach is well organised while moving eastern towards the area of Petras, it only features big tamarisk trees for shade.

How to get to Sitia

Sitia is easily accessible with frequent public buses from Agios Nikolaos and Ierapetra.
The beach lies along the road east of town, towards Vai and Palekastro.
