The tiny beach of Macherida (machairi means “knife” in Greek) is located 15km northeast of Chania and 1km west of the village Chorafakia on cape Akrotiri.

Macherida beach is accessible by private cars and motorbikes.
There are daily buses from Chania to Chorafakia village from where you can walk to the beach.
