Notes
Ιf you walk to the south, there are two secluded rocky coves, not so beautiful as Kolokytha but far less crowded.
*Unfortunately, between 11:00 and 17:00 hours, this small beach gets overcrowded due to the numerous excursion boats.
In order to fully enjoy the beach, go either very early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
How to get to Kolokytha
To reach the islet of Kolokytha, go past the resort of Elounda and the old salt pans on your right, and cross the narrow strip of land with the windmills which leads to the peninsula of Spinalonga.
Then follow the dirt road and after about 300m, turn right.
Shortly after you will see the picturesque church of Agios Loukas (Saint Luke), where you should park.
A small downhill path leads to Kolokytha beach, only a short walk away.
