Location
Karoumes beach is approximately 100km east of Agios Nikolaos, 30km east of Sitia and some 10km south of Palekastro.
It is formed at the exit of the beautiful gorge of Chochlakies.

Notes
At the edge of the gorge of Choclakies you will find the isolated beach of Karoumes with round pebbles, crystal clear waters and trees offering shade.
There are several other small coves to be discovered at a distance of 700m to the north and 500m to the south of Karoumes beach.
How to get to Karoumes
Karoumes beach is accessible only by a private boat or by crossing the gorge of Chochlakies, a village located 8km south from Palekastro, on the way to Zakros.
The trail to the gorge starts about 1km east of the village of Chochlakies.
The beautiful gorge is 3.5km long and its crossing takes about 1.5 hours (one way).
