The long beach has sand and shallow waters and is therefore ideal for families.
From the beach you can see the Thodorou islet, a preservation area of the Cretan wild goat.

*Like all beaches on the north west coast of Crete, it is affected by the winds which blow during July and August and are widely known as “meltemia”.
During these days attention is required, due to dangerous sea currents and large waves which are of course a surfers’ paradise!

There are boat trips from Agia Marina to the islet of Theodorou, habitat of the Cretan wild goat, known as Kri-kri.

How to get to Agia Marina

Agia Marina beach is easily accessible from Chania town by frequent public buses or by rented cars and motorbikes.
