From the nearby village of Kolimbari, drive up towards the lovely 17th century monastery of Gonia.
There is an exit on the right, where a narrow and winding asphalt road leads to the beach.
Afrata is 10km west of Tavronitis, where there is a junction with the new National road Chanion-Kissamou.
