In its northern part you will be able to admire carved sculptures of Minoan and Egyptian sea figures, works of a Belgian fan of Matala.

Red beach is accessible with a small boat from Matala.
If you feel like hiking, follow a trail which starts just north of Matala and crosses the hill north of the village.
