Location
Koutsouras is a small seaside village, located 56km south east of Agios Nikolaos, 23km east of Ierapetra and 2,5km from Makrigialos, on the main road connecting Ierapetra and Makrigialos.
It is a relatively new settlement, built in a valley with pine trees, greenhouses and olive groves on the south of Mount Thripti.

Notes
Around the village there are beaches with thick grey sand and calm waters, well protected from the winds.
The main beach is located west of the village and is well organised.
Along the beach there are several tamarisk trees, where you can find shade.
There is a more secluded small beach west of the harbour, as well as a sandy one 1km east of Koutsouras, ideal for small children.
In the Communal Park of Koutsouras, many events such as open air concerts and parties take place every summer.
How to get to Koutsouras
Koutsouras is accessible with public buses and by rented cars and motorbikes.
If you drive fron Agios Nikolaos or Sitia, take the national road to Ierapetra in the south and then follow the coastal raod towards Makrigialos.
