Location
Filaki beach (i.e. Prison) is located 3km east of Chora Sfakion, 70km south of Chania town and 65km south east of Rethymno town.
Filaki and its adjacent beaches of Ammoudi are mainly preferred by naturists.
They are actually the only “official” nudism-friendly beaches on Crete.

Notes
Moving just 100m eastwards, you will find many small magical beaches, formed at the mouth of the Sfakiano gorge.
This spectacular area is called Plakakia.
How to reach Filaki
Filaki beach can be accessed with private or rented cars and motorbikes from Chania or Chora Sfakion.
If you choose to drive from Chania, take the new National road (E75) towards Rethymno town, to the east.
After about 36km, take the exit to Vrysses and Sfakia.
When you reach Hotel Vritomartis, take the road that you’ll meet on the left.
If you drive fro Rethymno town, take the new National road (E75) towards Chania, to the west and then the exit to Vrysses and Sfakia.
Alternatively you can take a public bus from Chania to Chora Sfakion or Rethymno to Chora Sfakion and then reach the beach on foot.
