Gra Ligia beach

Location

Gra Ligia beach is located about 5km west of Ierapetra town, 10km east of Mirtos and 40km south of Agios Nikolaos.
The beach extends for several kilometres up to Neos Myrtos.

Notes

The west part of the beack is more organised with few umbrellas and sunbeds, whereas moving eastern it only features large tamarisk trees.
In  June there is the revival of the traditional custom of “xentomatiasmata”, which is a war with tomatoes!
There are so many greenhouses scattered from Gra Ligia all the way until Neos Myrtos that the locals call the village “Silicon Valley of Crete”.

How to get to Gra Ligia

Gra Ligia is accessible from Ierapetra with frequent public buses.
If you choose to drive from Ierapetra, follow the provincial coastal road Pachia Ammou – Gdohias- Gra Ligias, west of the city.
